Jeff Kennett still ‘disgusted’ by major honour given to Daniel Andrews
Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett says he’s been left angered by the response he received after enquiring why Daniel Andrews was given a King’s Birthday honour earlier this year.
Mr Andrews received the nation’s highest honour in June, a decision which has received significant backlash.
After writing to the awards council, Mr Kennett told Jacqui Felgate the decision to give the award to the former premier was a “slap in the face” to every Australian.

“I wrote…saying how disgusted I was that this award had not gone through normal processes,” he said on 3AW Drive.
“(The award) is a slap in the face to every Australian who nominates a person).”
