‘Embarrassing’: Tom Elliott’s latest comments on the Commonwealth Games debacle
Glasgow is firming to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games in condensed fashion, after the Victorian government pulled out of hosting the games last year.
The Scottish city hosting means it will cost Victorian taxpayers around $200 million, and Tom Elliott has stated former Premier Daniel Andrews knew that we’d never be able to host the games.
“It’s so embarrassing and it’s so inept and it’s just terrible,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

The state opposition’s tourism, sports and events spokesman, Sam Groth, said current Premier Jacinta Allan “can’t be hands off” in this situation.
“Her fingerprints are on every single debacle that is going on in this state at the moment,” Groth told Ross and Russ.
