Melbourne’s $14 billion Metro Tunnel project is facing a “significant” issue, according to Heidi Murphy.

The government is currently working through a solution to the problem, with test trains through the tunnel currently disrupting important medical equipment in Parkville’s hospital precinct.

The Nine News State Political Reporter told Ross and Russ the government has known about the current issue for almost an decade.

“The government has known about (the new train system) being a potential problem (for equipment) since 2016,” she said on 3AW Breakfast.

“There’s a significant problem.”
