Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton has come out swinging against the amount of protests which take place in the state.

Over 20,000 demonstrators are planning a rally outside a defence expo next month, which would mark one of the biggest protests in recent memory.

Joining Jacqui Felgate in the studio on 3AW Drive, Mr Patton admits he’s been left frustrated by some of the protests which occur across the state on a weekly basis.

“I think we’d have more protests than anywhere in Australia,” he said on 3AW.

“People will protest about the opening of an envelope down here, it’s just ridiculous.

“Some of the things people protest about…you feel like saying ‘get a life really’.”
