People arriving at Australian airports may soon not have to fill out “annoying” physical incoming passenger cards.

The Australian Border Force (ABF) is set to launch a trial of a digital alternative, which will launch on Qantas flights between Australia and New Zealand later this year.

Travel writer David Flynn says ditching the archaic paper cards was a long time coming.

“It’s about time,” he told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“They are so annoying – I fly a lot overseas and there’s very few countries which have a card left.”
