Carlton midfielder Blake Acres has opened up on 3AW after the Blues got thumped by 74 points against Hawthorn in front of a packed out MCG.

A dejected Acres said the performance “just wasn’t us” and didn’t let the injuries be an excuse for the thrashing.

“We’re a close group and I’m confident we’ve got the personnel and the right group here to get this job done,” Acres said.
