Steve Hooker lauds ‘incredible’ history-making pole vaulter Nina Kennedy
Pole vaulter Nina Kennedy recorded a jump of 4.90 metres to make her the first Australian woman to win a gold medal in an Olympics field event.
Kennedy and her team had to wait to see if American competitor Katie Moon could clear the 4.95 bar to continue the final.
When Moon failed to clear the bar, it was an amazing moment between Kennedy and her team when she was officially an Olympic gold medallist.
“An incredible performance from her, she’s a beast!” Steve Hooker said on 3AW Breakfast.
