Animal Justice Party MP Georgie Purcell has decided to knock back the state politician pay rise which was announced last month, and will instead donate the extra money to multiple charities.

It’s the second pay rise for state politicians in as many years of 3.5 per cent, which has pushed Premier Jacinta Allan’s salary of $435,434 a year to $498,031, thanks to the extra $62,597 in expenses tallied in.

“I don’t think it’s the wages of politicians that need to grow in this state right now,” Ms Purcell told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
