American Noah Lyles has won an Olympic 100m final for the ages, edging out Kishane Thompson by just 0.005 of a second.

The race come down to a photo finish, with most of the competitors spread across the track in a frantic ending.

But it was Lyle who came out on top, winning the title in 9.79s.
