Mollie O’Callaghan has taken out the gold medal in the 200m freestyle, edging out fellow Aussie Ariarne Titmus in a stunning result.
In a race built up as one of the highlights for Australia at these Olympics, O’Callaghan won her few individual gold medal in an Olympic record time of 1:53:27.

In other news from the pool on the third night of competition, Tasmanian Max Giuliani finish seventh in a tight 200m freestyle final won by Romanian David Popovici, while Ella Ramsay was fifth in the 400m individual medley.
Kaylee McKeown and Iona Anderson both made it through to the much-anticipated final in the 100m backstroke, with American world record holder Regan Smith poised to be McKeown’s biggest threat for gold.
