Australia flagbearer Jess Fox has done it – winning her first Olympic gold medal in the K1.

After winning bronze in the same event at Tokyo 2020, she managed to withstand the pressure and produce a flawless run in the final to win Australia’s fourth gold medal of the Paris Olympics.

Fox joined Clinton Maynard shorting after the medal presentation, telling Nine Radio she was “really proud” to bounce back after the disappointment of three years to go.

“To do that today was really special,” she said.
