Leigh Matthews says he’s still unclear what type of tackle will see players suspended.

The latest dangerous tackle suspension saw Patrick Dangerfield rubbed out for a week, with Geelong opting to challenge the verdict at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

But Leigh said despite the AFL trying to clamp down on dangerous tackles in recent years, he was still unsure where the rule sat.

“We’re in such grey areas now (with dangerous tackle suspensions),” he said on Wide World of Sports.

“You look at it now and it should be fairly simple to say what is suspendable and what is not. It’s very hard to differentiate now between suspendable or accidental.”
