Alex Neal-Bullen has weighed in on the talk around Steven May’s conduct on Saturday night, which eventually saw him fined for staging.

North Melbourne’s Eddie Ford tackled May, with the hard-nosed Dees defender called out post-match for feigning head contact as he was taken to ground despite being awarded a free kick.

Speaking on 3AW Football, Neal-Bullen said he was hoping for more consistency across the board when it comes to how dangerous tackles are officiated.

“As a tackler you’re well aware of the force you’re coming in and you probably put that on the responsibly of the bloke being tackled,

“It’s tough but we have to make sure as players we’re doing our part trying to lay a tackle, but not with the aggression and intensity that could hurt someone.”
