Victorian government makes big concession on housing targets
The Victorian government has conceded for the first time they won’t build 80,000 extra homes this year as promised.
The target was announced by the Labor government last September, with major events minister Steve Dimopoulos saying on Tuesday they were now unlikely to meet the target.
“We haven’t heard a minister back away from (the target) until today,” Channel 7’s Sharnelle Vella told 3AW Drive.

“When you speak to property experts, they’ve always said this was a really hard target to meet.”
