Harry McKay’s mum Tracey “absolutely believed” her son would be drafted by Adelaide, before Carlton swooped late on draft night to bring him to IKON Park.

As Harry and twin brother Ben prepare to face off against each other for the first time at AFL level on Sunday night, Tracey said was resigned to both her sons heading to interstate clubs.

“We absolutely believed on draft night Harry would be going to Adelaide and Fremantle were really keen on Ben (McKay),” she said on 3AW Football.

“On the night yourself, you don’t know until the names are called out. We were very lucky Carlton swapped their picks and took Harry at pick 10.”
