‘Unfair’: Melbourne coach not happy with criticism over fitness of playing group
Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin has labelled the criticism of his players’ fitness this week as “unfair.”
Melbourne’s 92-point loss to Fremantle on Sunday was their heaviest defeat of Goodwin’s coaching career, with Nathan Buckley taking aim at the conditioning of the playing group after seeing vision of their warm-down following the game.
“(The criticism is) unfair,” he told Sam McClure and Matthew Richardson on Wide World of Sports.

“The players have done a power of work on their conditioning, on the weekend our work rate in-game indicated that we didn’t work to the level required for AFL footy.”
