A builders association “can’t understand” the logic behind a new skilled migrant visa list which prioritises yoga instructors over tradies.

The new list lays out the sectors prioritised for the government’s new Skills in Demand Visa, which fast-tracks potential migrants with skills in various areas.

Master Builders Association CEO Denita Wawn says she’s been left puzzled by the latest revelation.

“25 per cent of our workforce are migrants,” she told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.

“We can’t understand why there’s been a sudden curtailing to bring in skilled migrants.”
