Jacqui Felgate is wondering whether reforms to Melbourne’s taxi system will make any noticeable difference.

Payment provider Cabcharge is looking to only have their services used for taxis who put a meter on, but after an experience outside the MCG on Thursday night, the 3AW Drive host doesn’t know whether the growing issue will be fixed.

“As soon as I said (I wanted to go to) ‘Hampton’ they said ‘absolutely not’ and didn’t even bother to turn on the meter,” Jacqui said on 3AW.

“I wonder if this has been an issue (for others), I don’t know if this digital pass would make a difference.”
