Jacqui Felgate has reacted to the “bad news” budget handed down by Treasurer Tim Pallas.

She says Victorian’s will be saddled with debt for decades, as projects such as the airport rail link, are effectively “shelved”.

“The government can spin it any way they like, but the reality is it was a $10 billion project, and we’ve already spent $630 million on a rail link which will most likely never be completed,” she said.

The 3AW Drive host also took aim at the Treasurer’s attempt to place blame on the airport.

“[Melbourne Airport} say the consortium offered up to $7 billion towards an underground airport station and express tracks from Sunshine – the state government rejected this,” she said.
