Tom Elliott unpacks AFL decision to suspend Port Adelaide forward following homophobic slur
Tom Elliott has called out the AFL for their “inconsistent” approach to handing out penalties and suspensions.
Port Adelaide forward Jeremy Finlayson has been suspended for three weeks after he made a homophobic slur towards an Essendon player last Friday night.
It comes just five weeks after North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson escaped a suspension for a similar slur.

“I believe this is inconsistent,” Tom said on 3AW Mornings.
“The AFL picks and chooses the issues about which it gets upset.”
