Group of birds from New South Wales now ‘climate change refugees’ in Victoria
A group of Tawny Grassbirds native to northern New South Wales have been found in Victoria after they became victim to climate change.
Author of Why Do Birds Do That, Dr Grainne Cleary, says the birds habitat have been destroyed, and where they’re from is too warm.
“These are Australian birds, they’re not going to roll over and die, they’re not going to wait for someone to come and save them, they’re like ‘No, no, we’ll move!’,” she told Tony Moclair.
