‘Be quiet’: Eddie McGuire’s blunt advice to ex-umpire after Jordan Clark comments
Eddie McGuire says the ex-umpire who publicly called out Fremantle’s Jordan Clark would “want to be quiet” considering the umpire himself remains under investigation for allegedly compromising Brownlow Medal results through betting in 2022.
Michael Pell called Clark a “spoilt brat” on social media, after he gave away a dissent free kick in Saturday’s clash against Carlton which ultimately led to the Blues winning the match.
Pell recalled a moment when he umpired Clark in 2020 where he pulled him aside to warn him about berating umpires, but McGuire says considering Pell’s current circumstances, he shouldn’t weigh into current umpiring issues.

“I would have thought he would want to be quiet – especially because he brought up personality umpiring.”
