‘It’s not on our radar’: AFL boss shuts down suggestions of helmets for all players
AFL CEO Andrew Dillon has shut down suggestions helmets should be worn by all players in the AFL and the lower levels.
It comes are reports that all community footballers could be forced to wear helmets, with a head protection trial being launched this season.
“Absolutely not, it’s not on our radar at all,” Dillon told Tom Elliott.

He also addressed the 21 day return to play protocols for concussions in community football compared to 12 days for the AFL.
“There is a difference between elite level sport an sport below the elite level,” Dillon said.
