Victoria’s road safety commissioner has spoken to 3AW Drive over the revoking of almost 4000 speeding fines after police noticed an significant  number of fines for a stretch of a street in North Melbourne.

Road Safety Camera Commissioner, Neville Taylor says, police have shown a “genuine” commitment to ensuring speed cameras are only catching drivers speeding.

“I got involved in this in early January … Victoria Police and Justice brought this to my attention,” he told Jacqui Felgate.

He also revealed no complaints have been made since the speed change took effect last year.

“Which is unusual,” he said.
