Long-time AFL player manager Peter Jess says it’ll be “very difficult” for Melbourne footballer Joel Smith to make a comeback considering the latest allegations leveled against him.

Smith has now been accused of drug trafficking, on top of already being provisionally suspended for a match day positive drug test last year.

“It’s going to be very difficult to come back from that,” Jess told Tom Elliott on 3AW Drive.

“We’re now dealing with the old WADA regime which is extremely difficult (to argue against).”
