Olympic hopeful Shane Rose has been stood down just months before the Paris Games for wearing a mankini while at a showjumping event earlier this month.

Equestrian Australia has opened an investigation in the incident, following a complaint from an onlooker at the event.

“The general consensus was it was all aimed in good humour,” Rose told Tom Elliott on 3AW Mornings.
