Ingredients
- X1 Steak of choice perperson
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Shallot finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by finely chopping the fresh herbs (parsley, coriander, chives, and dill), mincing the garlic cloves, and finely chopping the shallot.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped herbs (parsley, coriander, chives, and dill), chopped shallot, lemon juice, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Season the cowboy butter with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preference.
- Transfer the mixed butter onto a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape the butter into a log or any desired shape. Roll it tightly in the plastic wrap or parchment paper and twist the ends to seal.
- You can use the cowboy butter immediately or chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavours to meld together. Chilling will also help the butter to firm up, making it easier to slice or spread.
- Once chilled, slice the cowboy butter into rounds or simply scoop it out with a spoon. Serve alongside grilled meats, vegetables, baked potatoes, or spread it on bread for a tasty treat.
- Store any leftover cowboy butter in an airtight container or wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and keep it refrigerated. It should last for about a week in the refrigerator, or you can freeze it for longer storage.
