West Coast co-captain Liam Duggan says the Eagles have played more intra-club matches in the lead up to the 2024 season compared to previous years.

Coming off a disasterious bottom-placed finish last year, they’ll be hoping for signs of improvement as they prepare to unveil much-hyped number one draft pick Harley Reid during upcoming pre-season matches.

“We’ve done a lot more match simulation,” Duggan told Sam McClure on Wide World of Sports.

“There’s been more of a shift towards match simulation and more combative-type drills. We’ve got to the middle of February and we feel really game ready and we have three practice matches to come before Round 1.”
