A Dandenong man has been punched in the face and hit with a stick as two thugs tried to steal his dog.

“That’s just deeply disturbing,” Ross Stevenson said.

Police are searching for the two men involved in the assault, which occurred on November 27 last year along the Princes Highway.

The first man is described as African, aged in his early 20s, with a slim build and black braided or dreadlocked hair.

The second man is described as Caucasian, aged in his mid to late 20s, with an average build and short black hair.
