Police union boss Wayne Gatt says he was visibly disturbed by vision which showed an elderly man being pushed off the Mornington Peninsula Pier over the weekend.

Mr Gatt said the vision, which was revealed by 3AW’s Jacqui Felgate on Tuesday afternoon, was “pretty shocking” and confirmed the incident was under investigation.

“It’s pretty shocking where people can be heard laughing at the consequences for an older person in our community,” he told 3AW Drive.

“These are people that we should be looking up to and helping.”
