Sophisticated AI voice scams can be created with as little as three seconds of audio from social media or voicemails, an expert has revealed.

Professor in cyber crime, cyber war and cyber terror at UNSW, Richard Buckland, says it’s “very easy” for scammers to convincingly impersonate someone and it’s becoming increasingly common, particularly in the United States.

In most instances, older relatives are targeted.
