Tom Elliott predicts a grim future for free-to-air television
Tom Elliott says the future of free-to-air television looks bleak.
The 3AW Drive host said the rise of Foxtel and internet television spelled the end.
It follows news profits for Channel 7 and Channel 10 have taken a major hit.
‘I honestly think, at best, they’ve got five to 10 years before they come so irrelevant and shut down,’ Tom Elliott said on Thursday.

But Dave Taylor, Managing Director of the Ink Agency and brand strategist, is more optimistic and believes things will settle down.
‘There was a panic to try and address Netflix before it even arrived,’ Mr. Taylor said.
He believes the video rental industry has suffered much more than free-to-air TV has.
