Victorian solar farm ordered to cease operating over fire risk
Victoria’s ninth-largest solar farm has been ordered to stop generating power temporarily due to the risk of fire.
A “reasonably large” fire broke out at the Enel Green Power Cohuna Solar Farm in November and Energy Safe Victoria has ordered the farm to stop producing power until it addresses the equipment problem which caused the blaze.
“Of course we don’t want that happening in the height of summer,” Energy Safe CEO Leanne Hughson told 3AW’s Heidi Murphy.
