Why they ran out of AFL Records for Bob Murphy’s 300th game
Vexed listener Merle called Ross and John with a very important question: Why wasn’t there anyone selling the AFL Record before the Western Bulldogs v Brisbane match?
Well, possibly because they didn’t have anything to sell.
After Merle’s call, the AFL told us the Record – including a tribute to Bob Murphy ahead of his 300th match – sold out.
They say 20% of the 31,822-strong crowd bought a Record, compared to the normal eight per cent.
They were a well-read bunch at Etihad Stadium!
