A Victorian teacher is under fire over comments made at a pro-Palestine rally at the weekend.

The man, who identifies himself as a science teacher, took to a loudspeaker to say “Hamas is doing exactly what they have to do because Israel has left them with no choice” at the Melbourne protest yesterday.

Heidi Murphy, who is filling in on 3AW Drive, says “people are entitled to their views” but “if it’s being said in that way in the classroom that has crossed a line”.
