Dale Thomas ‘selflessly’ removes controversial clause in his Carlton contract
The controversial clause in Dale Thomas’ contract with Carlton has been removed.
There was an option of a contract extension based on how many games Thomas played this season.
But the Blues announced on Tuesday that part of the contract had been removed, at the request of the former Collingwood star.
Carlton list manager Stephen Silvagni was full of praise for Thomas.?
‘Acknowledging that we as a club do not publicly comment on the nature of player contracts, Dale has selflessly put the club first in this situation,’ he said.
‘Pleasingly for Dale, he will now be able to go out and play football without the constant, external commentary around the nature of his contract.’
