Small businesses continue to hurt as DP World strikes leaves stock ‘bobbing around the coast of Australia’
More 24 hour stoppages are scheduled this week at the docks as the Maritime Union continue industrial strikes forcing small businesses to continue to wait for stock ordered months ago.
Owner of boutique children’s brand, Nana Hoochie, Lucy Morrison, says a shipment which was due to arrive last month has been “bobbing around” the coast of Australia for two weeks.
“We’ve got sort of 350 stores waiting for their orders on that container, we’ve had to let them know that we can’t advise them when it’s going to be here,” she told Tony Jones.
