RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Man allegedly steals ‘stunt’ car at Sandown before burglary
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: A man has allegedly stolen a ‘stunt’ car from Sandown racecourse before committing a burglary at a convenience store.
‘Evel Knievel’ told 3AW Breakfast the man has then returned to the track the next morning after he’d been bailed and asked somebody to move their car so he could retrieve the vehicle he’d arrived in before the alleged incident.
Police confirmed a man had been arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning following a short pursuit.
A 33-year-old Lethbridge man was charged with two counts burglary, theft of motor vehicle, attempted burglary, criminal damage and traffic related charges.
He was bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates Court on July 10.
