The DJ behind a song which went viral during COVID has created a new track as he aims to help to fund myeloma research.

Matt James – founder of electric music group Mashd N Kutcher – created dance track ‘Get On the Beers’ during the height of Victoria’s COVID lockdown.

He is now facing a cancer battle after being diagnosed with myeloma in August, creating a new song called ‘It’s Alright’, with all streaming royalties donated to help find a cure.

“Music for me is my passion and outlet,” Mr James told Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings.

“Since the diagnosis (in August), my number one priority has been my health and going through the treatment. For me, music has been such a good distraction.”
