‘Doesn’t seem all that keen’: Tom Elliott bemused by Victorian premier’s lack of interest in airport rail
Victorian premier Jacinta Allan doesn’t seem keen on implementing a train line to Melbourne airport despite Thursday’s funding announcement, according to Tom Elliott.
The Albanese government has completed their review in various national infrastructure projects, with the long-mooted train link to the airport retaining its $5 billion worth of federal funding.
Tom has warned the Victoria government and premier Allan not to abandon the airport rail link, wondering why they seemingly are more enthusiastic about the suburban rail loop, which is yet to receive any funding at federal level.
“Jacinta Allen doesn’t seem all that keen on (airport rail),” Tom said on 3AW Drive.

“I believe like her predecessor Daniel Andrews, she is obsessed with this idea of the Suburban Rail Loop which is uncosted.
“If they don’t go ahead with it, it would be yet another example of the government just wasting money.”
