‘This is the reality of budget cuts’: ‘Hysterical’ domestic violence victim turned away from police station
Neil Mitchell has received a concerning red hot tip from last Thursday.
A “hysterical” woman seeking help after an alleged domestic violence incident drove to Cheltenham police station, only to be turned away because it was closed.
She was forced to drive an extra distance to the Moorabbin police station before eventually finding help.

“The (Cheltenham) police station was one of 43 police stations recently closed to save money and get more (officers) on the streets,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“This is the reality of budget cuts.”
