By complete coincidence, Ross Stevenson interviewed former detective Rod Wilson only for his podcast only hours before news broke that the Frankston serial killer will remain behind bars for life.

Wilson, a former homicide squad detective senior sergeant, was one of the lead investigators who helped put Paul Denyer behind bars.

He told Ross about the moment he realised Denyer was guilty.
