Beer consumers warned about the impact new container deposit scheme might have on their wallets
There are rumours the new container deposit scheme will result in the price of beer going up to cover the cost of the 10 cents for each recycled item.
Founder and publisher at Brews News, Matt Kirkegaard, says we won’t see an immediate jump in the price of beer, but it will be up to the discretion of each supplier.
“If they choose to pass it on to the retailer from where consumers by their beer from, then we will gradually see prices go up,” he told Tom Elliott.
