The Victorian government will ban gas connections to new residential homes in ten weeks but industry leaders want to delay the ban.

President of the Gas Appliance Manufacturer Association of Australia, Ross Jamieson, says manufacturers support the move to net-zero but they need time.

“If we look at any major announcement that’s made about changes in standards, changes in significant policy which this is, manufacturers and other stakeholders are given three years to transition … we were given ten weeks,” he told Neil Mitchell.
