Victoria’s container deposit scheme is only days out from beginning, but many still have no idea where to cash their bottles and cans.

The scheme allowing Victorians to cash in cans and bottles for 10 cents launches on November 1, but hundreds of drop off locations are yet to be named.

Executive director of Total Environment Centre, Jeff Angel, says “it’s going to be a slow start” and that will put some Victorians off using the scheme.

“I think a lot of people are going to find the system inconvenient which is totally contrary to getting the maximum return rate for the bottles and cans.”
