Fears agriculture will lose out in EU free trade deal

Rural News

Red meat producers are urging the Federal Government not to rush into a Free Trade deal with the European Union.

The proposed agreement is expected to be discussed by the Trade Minister and EU negotiators on the sidelines of a summit in Japan next week.

Sheep Producers Australia is one of several groups to argue the deal, in its current form, would leave farmers at a disadvantage for decades to come.

Rural reporter Madelaine McNeill caught up with chief executive Bonnie Skinner to hear why she thinks a better solution is needed.
