3AW Football wrap: Geelong nabs Power with Danger goal
FULL TIME
Geelong has won a thriller by two points.
Port led for much of the final term, but Patrick Dangerfield – who else? – kicked the winning goal inside the final two minutes.
Charlie Dixon was controversially called to play on late in the match while lining up for a goal that would have put the Power 10 points up.
The umpire said he took longer than the 30 seconds allowed.
Indeed, 34 seconds elapsed between the mark and the “play on” call.

Match-winner Patrick Dangerfield spoke to 3AW in the rooms.
“I was buggered at the end!” he said.
He said the team practices for pressure situations like they found themselves in late in the piece.
“For us to be able to execute it was pleasing,” he said.

HALF TIME
Geelong leads by eight points at the main break.
The Cats have had the better of the play, but inaccuracy in front of goal has meant they haven’t been able to take full advantage.
3AW analyst Matthew Lloyd said Geelong is leading, but their defence has looked shaky.

Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley told 3AW Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood are “special” players.
But he said the Power probably won’t put a hard tag on them.
“We probably don’t have a genuine tagger,” Hinkley said.
He said there’s more worry about than just the duo they call Dangerwood.
“(Mitch) Duncan’s had a great season so far, and they’ve got (Cam) Guthrie back in tonight, there’s plenty of talent outside those two,” Hinkley said.
