New analysis suggests the Australian sheep meat industry could boost its involvement in the US market.

University of Queensland graduate Lawton Elliott spent three weeks in the US on a meat judging tour.

He has identified opportunities to both boost Australian meat exports, and help American farmers produce consumer-preferred lamb.

Rural Reporter Ella Smith spoke to Mr Elliott about his time in the States and how Australia could harness the benefits of the US sheep market.
