‘Quite ominous’ floods continue to wreak havoc in East Gippsland
An emergency flood warning remains in place for Port of Sale in Gippsland with authorities concerned about 120 properties could be inundated.
Residents were told to evacuate overnight and it’s still not safe to return, with reports the Thomson River could rise to the major flood level of four metres today.
Crew member at Port of Sale Heritage Cruises, Mark Debono, says it’s too early to know what the impact will be.
