Neil Mitchell slams ‘disgraceful’ move to link cancer compensation with CFA reform
Neil Mitchell is disgusted by the Victorian Government’s decision to link cancer compensation with the reform of the state’s firefighting services.
It means any MP who opposes the legislation to split the CFA, will also block the compensation plan.
“There’s only one reason (they’re being linked) and it’s because they want to complicate it and force it all through,” Neil Mitchell said on Wednesday.
“It is politically disgraceful.
“It’s immoral, it really is – ‘we’re willing to give you money for cancer, but only if you’re going to support what we’re doing with the CFA’.”
The topic led to red-hot anger when “Danny” rang through.
“Danny? Is that Danny from the UFU?” Neil asked.
